APRIL 2020 IS EARTH CLIMATE MONTH IN MORGANTOWN
April 22, 2020 is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, and solving the climate crisis is the biggest challenge of our time. Everyone’s future is at stake, so we all have to learn how to be part of the solution!
During April 2020, you can take a personal step toward solving the climate crisis at these free, public “Earth Climate Month” programs in Morgantown, West Virginia. There will be something in these programs for everyone: enjoyable art and music, expert-led discussions and lectures, family-friendly learning and more!

MONDAY, APRIL 6
“What Do We Tell the Kids, and What Are They Telling Us?”
A family-friendly (free childcare available) ecumenical program at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Morgantown. National experts and local concerned citizens will discuss how different generations are dealing with the climate crisis, and how the youth climate movement is changing the national dialogue. A fun music program begins at 5:30 PM, speakers 6:30 to 8:30.

Music can be a powerful tool to help solve the climate crisis. Join a diverse crowd in swinging Morgantown to party for the planet!

“Earth Day Celebration at the Farmers Market”
Stop by this cool outdoor venue in downtown Morgantown anytime from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and check out displays, activities, discussion, music, and more to celebrate our magnificent planet, and how we can protect and preserve it.

“West Virginia Forests Can Help Save the Planet.”
New science shows us that the forests of West Virginia are storing huge amounts of carbon that can protect our future. In this evening program in Morgantown, you can learn and discuss the latest findings with national and local experts. Location to be announced.

“Climate Solutions and a Fair Energy Transition.”
In this evening program in Morgantown (location to be announced), expert speakers will discuss how decarbonization of the energy economy can generate funds to help coal-dependent communities; and how to create the political will for fair climate solutions.
